Los Gracias\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

People come and go. Some come for good, while others are gone <\/span>without a second glance.<\/span> Some never stay too close and others never totally leave. Sometimes, only the memory of a person remains; whatever it was they taught us, left us, took from us. Whatever change they made in us.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

LOS GRACIAS is a two-piece project that was made as a gesture of gratitude. Florencio Gracias and Edmunda Gracias where made to show my gratitude to those who taught me about self-empowerment and the value of my own time. They don\u2019t really represent only one person, but are a mix of some people who taught me about these life lessons. Each Gracias is a set of two pieces; the portrait and a small hand-embroidered poem.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

FLORENCIO GRACIAS <\/span>celebrates<\/span> self-empowerment<\/span>. It <\/span>was<\/span> inspired<\/span> by <\/span>someone<\/span> who<\/span> without<\/span> even<\/span> knowing, <\/span>gifted<\/span> me<\/span> the power of <\/span>understanding<\/span> my<\/span> strengths<\/span> and <\/span>my<\/span> weaknesses<\/span> and <\/span>taking<\/span> control<\/span> of <\/span>my<\/span> life<\/span>. This person <\/span>didn\u2019t<\/span> stay<\/span> for <\/span>too<\/span> long. <\/span>However<\/span>, he gave <\/span>me<\/span> back <\/span>my<\/span> self-empowerment<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

EDMUNDA GRACIAS <\/span>celebrates<\/span> the <\/span>value<\/span> of time. It <\/span>was<\/span> inspired<\/span> by <\/span>some<\/span> people<\/span> who<\/span>, <\/span>unknowingly<\/span> showed<\/span> me<\/span> the <\/span>value<\/span> of <\/span>my<\/span> own<\/span> personal<\/span> timing. <\/span>Because<\/span> life<\/span> works<\/span> in <\/span>mysterious<\/span> ways<\/span> (or not so <\/span>much<\/span>), the <\/span>creation<\/span> process<\/span> of <\/span>Edmunda<\/span> caught<\/span> me<\/span> unaware<\/span>, and in a <\/span>way<\/span> time <\/span>only<\/span> knows<\/span> how<\/span> to, it <\/span>showed<\/span> me<\/span> that<\/span> time <\/span>always<\/span> goes<\/span> by and <\/span>that<\/span> it is<\/span> only<\/span> up to <\/span>us<\/span> to <\/span>decide<\/span> how<\/span> to deal with <\/span>that<\/span>. <\/span>Edmunda<\/span> was<\/span> a double <\/span>teaching<\/span> on the <\/span>value<\/span> of time.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
